Review: Where the Wild Things Are
I saw this movie last night alongside my boyfriend, Sean. I don't even know where to begin. Being read the book as a child, I had this excitement built up within me ever since the first preview I had seen for the film about two or so weeks ago. I had no idea what to expect, other then a phenomenal soundtrack, seeing as how the original childrens book was only about 10 pages long, if that. I was expecting the "Wild Things" to make an appearance within the first few minutes of the film. Little did I know, I would have to wait about a full half hour. I didn't mind the wait seeing as how it became that much more exciting when the furry creatures appeared upon the big screen. For the first half hour of their appearance, I was excited and my whole attention was drawn towards the story line. As sad as it may seem, the story eventually dragged on along with a story line that I had not at all previously expected. The soundtrack was indeed "phenomenal" and I honestly feel that it pulled the movie together, and at most times, brought a hefty amount of excitement to the film. I highly reccomend taking a listen. As far as the Wild Things, they were incredibly well thought out and quite interesting to watch. I would urge anyone who has the slightest interest in going to see this film, to not wait for it to become a renter. Seeing it on the big theatre screen is the only way to go! This film brought so many emotions along with the story line. Happiness, excitement, frustration, confusion, sadness.. and yes, even a tear was shed. Now, go scrounge yourself up some money for this film and do your imagination a favor!

I really want to see this movie - although my husband has little interest in seeing it. Good to hear a review, though. Maybe I'll be able to drag him out one of these evenings. By the way, I'm a blogger, too! I'll invite you, and we can be blogger friends :)
ReplyDeleteYou should definitely drag him along! Thanks for the invite by the way!
